Complex travel plan, Bangkok, India, India New York, New York Bangkok

I am an American expat in Bangkok looking to go to Rajasthan this December. I know that you can fly from Bangkok to Jaipur. But I have a complicated itinerary because I plan to fly from Bangkok to Rajasthan then continue on to New York, and then fly from New York back to Bangkok.

To all of you India experts; I would really rather not fly Air India to New York. I would be willing to book two separate roundtrip tickets (BKK-India-BKK & India-NY-India) if the price was decent enough.

Any ideas, thoughts, airlines to try!

Why not take a flight to Delhi....then tavel to Rajasthan......return back to delhi.....am sure u would have alot of more options from Delhi to NY

I had thought of that, but what airlines are best from Delhi to NY. Air India is the only direct flight, and I haven't had such great experiences on it, hence cannot imagine over 10 hours....thanks for the idea
