Hi guys,

So I booked a flight via cleartip from Goa to Delhi, booked it on thursday, money was drawn from my account and it said on cleartrips homepage that I will recieve my e-ticket within 3 hours. Well guess what today is tuesday still no reply, I emailed them twice already and yet no anwser. Im getting worried now because I also booked a train with them and there is no seat nr. or anything (I booked 1 class)...

Have any of you experienced same thing...?

Chillipizza - Could you please help us with your Trip Id or email ID used at the time of booking Air & Train.

With respect to your Train booking, since you have booked a first class ticket, seat allocation is done by Indian Railways at the time of Chart preparation, hence no seat No. is displayed on your ticket.

Chillipizza,

Call them between 0700 hrs and 2200 hrs IST at +91 22 40554999.

As regards train booking, have you got a 10 digit PNR number. If you had booked first class, seat number will not be allotted while booking and would be done only while charting which is generally 4 hours before departure of train.

Cleartrip sucks

I would like to sound fellow travelers on the experience I have with this company. I booked a hotel in Mumbai and made the payment. On my own, I checked with the hotel to reconfirm. To my disbelief, the hotel refused to acknowledge the booking as they were fully booked. Cleartrip did not provide any optional booking and simply said to refund in 1 week time.

Cleartrip has neither refunded my money nor compensated me in any way inspite of countless emails and phone calls (it is over 3 months waiting now).

I wish there was a central authority with whom I can take this issue so this kind of companies are exposed to the traveling community and don't take them for a ride.

Angry CHEATTRIP, not Cleartrip or Clear Trip

Cleartrip should stop taking money when no booking -

Also provide correct receipt number with booking so that customer can easily find same number on bank statement to check correct amounts taken. I have many transactions on my bank which may or may not be correct but no number in the cleartrip system come thru in the bank system – the bank does list a receipt number but cleartrip does not – so how can a person identify and reconcile – i think cleartrip prefers the confusion they cause because they make a big rip-off in the middle (using exchange rates as a blind – high rate for sale, low rate for refund – etc)

Also – taking money when no booking made is dishonest and costs customer money because even when you pay back money, it costs customer because
1. Less money paid back than taken after exchange rate is applied at two different conversion rates!!! Not same fair rate but low rate for repay
2. Ass well as this the bank charges a currency fee both times (a) when money taken – and (b) when money put back

A recent ‘refund’ from cleartrip actually cost me rs 255 for no service at all!!!

I am changing the name to cheattrip – when i write detailed email replies i get 2 sentences of blank standard letter thanking me for my interest – there is a real lack of either integrity, intelligence, english skills or interest in fair go for customer, at cleartrip – when i rang twice, at my added cost, from australia, i wasted 2 calls and never got a conversation although spent 4 minutes on international cost calls.

Second call was patched thru but all i got was a telephonist giggling and chatting in hindi – she had no idea i was on line – they are using low skill low paid low brow people in my opinion -

So we use at our risk, get what little benefit we can – and suffer the pain of being poorly managed by a middle man

All because irctc has now refused to accept international credit cards – even though for years i have used mine – now i cannot – so we see middle man companies in asia rubbing their hands in glee!

Thanks irctc
Thanks Cheattrip

Mod Note
Kindly refrain from writing in Capital Letters, which is akin to shouting.

Can I trust Clear Trip

I've been hearing all there's stories of cleartrip not refunding ect.

But I have found some great deals with them, and am thinking of booking.

Now the thing is there's 3 of us with. I am flying to Goa with my girl friend, stay there for a day then flying in to Chennai...where I will meet my brother, who fly's in at 1 am.
At 4 am we will catch a flight together to Port Blair. Now as there's not much time between these flights and only seems to be 1 flight leaving Goa on Saturday morning at 8, if some thing goes wrong it will have a knock on effect.

I've been planning this for a while now, and would be devastated it if all went down the drain because of an armature misstate.

Cleartrip talks about travel vouchers being sent to my home address, I live in London.... don't they issue E-tickets?

Your well travelled advise you be greatly appreciated

I've used Cleartrip to make online train bookings. They send e-tickets to your email address, not your home address. I have had no problems with getting refunds back on my credit card. They accept Visa/MasterCard as long as you have Verified by Visa or MasterCard Secure Code enabled on your card (check with your bank if you're not sure). Booking trains online can be slow and sometimes it takes a few attempts before you have success because there are so many people trying to book at the same time, but just keep trying until it works. You can also book with IRCTC, but they only accept American Express for non-Indian credit cards. Cleartrip is very easy to use and is safe. I think most people on forums who said they didn't get their refunds back would have gotten it fixed through calling customer service or waiting a bit longer, but from my own experience Cleartrip is fine.
