Cheap tickets from Frankfurt/Main or Vienna to Delhi (Bombay)
Hello!
Could anybody give me information if it is possible to buy one-way airtickets in Frakfurt or Vienna airport 1 or 2 days in advance before planned departure for reduced price for flights which are not fully ocupied? If normal return ticket at its full fare from Europe to India is about 610 EUR and more what discount I could save when I would buy ticket by way mentioned above instead of normal system (through common travel agency for example 1 month befor flight) Thanks. |

I'm only speaking generally here and am open to correction!!
These days I rarely hear of people buying the old "last minute tickets" The airlines seem to run on the principle of overbooking a flight and hoping some people drop out!! Hence the regular upgrades and free nights in Hotels from airlines (sometimes everybody shows up and if you don't get a seat then the airline is duty bound to accomodate and feed you!!) I read somewhere that some airlines overbook by up to an incredible 30% the difference is usually made up by business men cancelling flights!! A shady way to do business I think but this is the world we live in!! All in all I think the price of 610 euros is probably as good as your going to get!! unless a lot of people start cancelling tickets due to the recent bombings in Mumbia, perhaps then you may see some rock bottom prices out there but I wouldn't bet on it!!! One other point about buying two single tickets, this will invariably cost you MORE money, I meet many people who have bought one way tickets into India lured by all the rumours of cheap charter tickets back to Europe. The reality, expect to pay at least 300/400 euros for a single ticket back to Europe!! there are exceptions to the rule of course but they are just that, a return ticket is nearly always better!! Hope that is of some use to you Happy Travelling!! |

I agree with Cyber... frankfurt is an extremely busy airport and finding a ticket to anywhere in india 2 days in advance sounds to me like a near-impossible task!

If you know of any company that runs charter flights to India, you could check with them; there might be an unsold seat or two.
