changing flight departure dates in india
just wonderin'-- how easy is it these days to reschedule flight plans for departure once in india? i recklessly bought a r/t ticket when it was pretty cheap but i actually do have some freedom of dates-- if i have enough money and decide to stay on for longer, will it be pretty easy for me to go to the office of my airline in delhi and change my departing flight date? --thanks!
So long as the flight you want to change to has spare seats it shouldn't be a problem. I've changed flights many times with many different airlines and it's no more difficult than changing the dates at home.
That's the great thing about modern technology - once you're in fron of that airline computer you could be anywhere in the world.
Just make sure you don't overun your Indian visa...that's a whole different story to change!

last time i was going to india i had the chance of 10 weeks instead of the 6 weeks i had already paid for.
when i called the airline to have my return flight put back 4 weeks they said they could do it but with a US$100 charge.
i told them i wanted to cancel the flights as i could get new flights with a different airline on the dates i wanted for only US$60 more (even after paying their cancellation fee).
it worked, i got the dates i wanted with no extra charge.
with the situation in Iraq and the SARS virus the airlines are in a vulnerable position at the moment, you should be able to change your return flight, just make sure the date you want to return is not a 'holiday' period.
