Car From Airport
We've been quoted 20 USA dollars (non-air conditioned)or 25 USA dollars (air conditioned) for a car from Delhi airport to the Oberoi Maidens hotel in Old Delhi. Is this excessive? Or should we ask the hotel to send a car?
We get into Delhi late and to have a car waiting. ![]() |

Oberoi Maidens is quite far from the airport. The price quoted is on the higher side but not outrageous. If the hotel has a free pick up then that is of course an obvious choice otherwise you could probably go with this....

On second thought you can also take a prepaid taxi from the airport which in all probability will cost less. After customs you just head to the counter that reads Prepaid taxi...Delhi Traffic Police.

9hanover, how about comparing it to a taxi from taunton to croscombe late at night? or even Shepton mallett? doubt if you would get any change from $25!

True - but this is India not Somerset! If I paid the equivalent they'd be taking me for a ride in all senses of the word!

I'd check with the hotel about having them arrange a transfer for you. Most of the hotels in Delhi will set this up in advance for you upon request.

Depends on whether the hotel will be charging you for the hotel transfers and if so then the prepaid taxi is the cheaper option. If the hotel has a free coach facility to and from the airport then that is the best option for you.
Cheers, Aadil.
