Can't Buy Airline Tickets?

I am attempting to buy an airline ticket from Delhi to Leh. The only place I can find that has tickets is Jet Airways, but when I get to the final page of purchasing it has a little disclaimer that says:

'We accept credit card payment only. (We currently do not accept Debit Cards and Master/Visa Credit cards issued outside India.)'

Then how can I purchase a ticket? Can I do it through another website or airline? I want to do it quickly before flights to Leh sell out. Any help is appreciated.

thanks,
Dave

Forgot to mention that they will only take cash or check. So, you will have to airmail the check..unless they changed their rules recently!

Have you tried http://www.makemytrip.com/ ? They are showing Indian and Jet flights to Leh.

Pretty sure they accept credit cards.

So, it still seems as if no one will accept U.S. credit cards.

Would this work?:
I plan on flying in to Mumbai on Thursday. Could I go up to the Jet Air or Air Deccan counter at this airport and purchase tickets with cash for the flight from Delhi to Leh in June? Would this work?

Thanks for your help. This is my first trip to India, so I am pretty clueless.

thanks,
Dave

THat would work also. Have you tried contacting Jet Airways office in the U.S.? I have mentioned their info in the previous thread. I believe you can send them a check and they will mail you your ticket.

Yeah, that is a good idea, except that I waited until the last minute. I leave for India in 2 days, and I will not really have an address for them to send it to.

Ouch that is cutting it very very close. But you might as well give them a call and see if they book the ticket for you and possibly give you eticket or have the option of having it picked up in India.

Good luck! Enjoy your trip

It seems that makemytrip do accept foreign cards, but require you to jump through a few (anti-fraud) hoops first...

This is from another thread ('Air Deccan Credit Card'):

You are right..and I know this becasue another member posted this info that he did purchase the tickets from makemytrip.com after the elaborate procedure..

option 2 - you may try and contact some travel agent, who can contact some travel agent in India and get the tickets done..iut will cost you a bit more..but better than not having it at all..
