Can i take a tripod as baggage

I am flying from bangalore to delhi on spiceJet. I am planning to take my Lowepro trekker as cabin baggage. Will they allow mw to take tripod along with it? Thanks in advance

Only one bag is allowed as Cabin Baggage .

The official policy may be only one bag, but I've seen people bring everything but the family cow onto some domestic flights. I think it depends on the airport, airline and phase of the moon.

The point is that a tripod is like a stick and could be considered a "weapon", hence they may not allow to take it into the cabin.

I always put my tripod into the checked luggage, just to be on the safe side.

You may want to consult your airline's homepage to find out about their policy.
