| Buying Plane Tickets for Travel Within India I am travelling to India in December. I would like to fly Mumbai-Delhi-Jaipur-Mumbai. I would like the cheapest fare, so I'm considering low cost airlines like Spice Jet. What is the best way to book tickets for Spice Jet, Indian Airlines, Air Deccan, etc? I live in Canada. When is the latest I should book? I would like to go to Goa, but I'm waiting to see if there are any hotel rooms. I will be travelling in late December/early January. Are tickets refundable? |

| Airdeccan allows cancellation & refund but Spicejet doesn't, they will hold your money which you can use to buy another flght ticket. Booking is possible on-line, earlier you buy better price you get. check the schedule of these airlines. Delhi-Jaipur can be done by superfast Shatabdi express train or by comfortable volvo bus sevice run by Rajasthan roadways. |

| 21st Century Freak | Paheli (nice name) try www.travelguru.com or www.makemytrip.com to get the fares of various airlines. You can of course go to the respective airlines website and book directly. Recently I read AirDeccan have some real low fare tickets....Spice Jet is another option. if your scedule is fixed u can book it online from there itself and the e-tickets printed out.

| Paheli Can I suggest you go through the airlines direct. JetAirways is good to deal with. I have purchased two lights through them online. I had to cancel one (they required a fee to do this- I think $20 US but the refund was quick and easy). I booked tickets with makemytrip online and they said I did not tick the box that indicated I was not an Indian citizen. They said they would refund my money minus a 500rp fee. I know I did check that box (I checked it after their email and still got the same fare) . I didn't hear from them or see my refund for a month. I called them and emailed them many times after the initial month. Still no refund. Finally after 3 months I approached my Credit Union with my correspondence and registered a complaint with visa. I got my money back. I wouldn't touch them again. |

| 21st Century Freak | hmmm......but you know the trick here is to use these sites simply to check the fares of all the airlines in one place and then go to the airline sites directly and book. This is lot easier than visiting each and every airline and checking the fares ![]() |
