budget airlines from singapore to india?

hi guys just wanna ask to all of those who has been aboard in tiger airways (singapore). It's just so tempting to ride these low cost airlines ( they're the price of our domestic ones, isn't that great)? But I haven't been to one... Just wanna ask how it is, and if it's better to pay premium say to a flag carrier instead.

and if you guys know of any other budget fares originating from singapore to any point in india? ( preferrably bombay or delhi)

Jet airways is offering an inaugral fare of Rupees 140000(about $327US) for Mumbai-Singapore return. You have to start the journey in Mumbai

Sahara airlines operates on the Delhi-Singapore sector and you can check their fares here http://www.airsahara.net/airsahara/singapore_fares.jsp

Does anyone know of some reliable discount travel agencies in Singapore? I think the last agent I used was Airmaster Travel in the Bencoolin St area but I'm not sure it still exists or is competitive.

Once we have some more information on prices and agents here, I encourage someone to put a post together for the Air Fare thread.

Please title the post: from Singapore ..and then give us what you've found.

Finding a good fare to India -- 2005

thanks!

I dunno if it is "budget" enough, but SriLankan operates many flights (with changeover at Colombo). They fly almost every day and to several destinations in India. I saw Trivandrum, Kochin and Chennai for about 630 or so SGD. Check: www.zuji.com of course and www.srilankan.aero

xairois: sorry, didn't answer your question about Tiger; I have no experience with them, but it should be all right. What fare have you found with them?

From the website Zoltan posted above, (www.zuji.com) I checked on SIN-DEL flights and the best offered is a 3 month round-trip to Delhi via Air India for $430Sing, or approx $259US. They have longer duration flights and more destinations as well, but this was the least expensive they were offering.

If you are in Singapore you could check with travel agents in the 'Little India' district.

Does anyone have any more suggestions about travel agents?

Zuji has some really good prices. They are offering Singapore-Vancouver return for less than $1000(CDN).

...tiger airways ...is mostly sing - to south east asia. they haven't opened to the indian market yet (they should!!!!!)... but there was a time, I couldn't believe that they had a 10 Sing promo (after the school was out) (one way to manila).. to go to PHILIPPINES. It's insane. But I haven't really tried it. it sounds too good to be true.

We have used tiger airways from Singapore to Phuket, not as good as jestar asia but it is a budget airline. You get what you pay for.

A friend of mine has used Tiger Airways quite a lot and likes them - also says Jetstar is o.k.

My travel agent has recommended Tiger as a bucket airline to consider.

Jetstar (here in Oz) are a nightmare. Too many complaints to consider them worthwhile.

Cheers

tiger airlines

the flight i did with them from perth to singapore was very squishy on my legs and it was awful but i noticed that the last seats on the flight were not crowded and a couple of people had the 6 seats to themselves. so...on the flight to chennai i asked for back seat on the aisle and got to lay down for the whoe flight. what a difference that made was worried that i would have to give up flying after the first flight!!
so there is a bit of advice on seat selection.
