Booking Deccan from UK?
I have now been banging my head on a brick wall for several hours.
Deccan Simplify keeps rejecting my UK credit card saying I have entered incorrect info. My credit card company say they have successfully processed a £1 test authorisation, but not tried to process again. So I guess it is a Deccan problem (possibly not helped by their pin/postcode field only taking numbers and that the drop down says 'Uinted Kingdom' not United Kingdom!!) Deccan's call centre cannot process an overseas booking or give me any advice as to what may be wrong. I cannot find a UK agent to book for me. Does anyone know of one? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a reliable Indian agent that would be able to book an e-ticket. I am not keen on using Make My Trip due to mixed feedback here. |

Two years back I successfully booked two Deccan flights with my UK credit card. (They were called Air Deccan at the time but the e-bus program must be the same?)
Suggestion: use an Indian pin code, shouldn't matter which in the end. Probably can use the address of hotel you'll be staying at? Also, try another credit card? |

I think the pin code is supposed to match the credit card registered address. I've put my 'real' postcode in the main part of the address, and then just 111111 as the pin code. And from what my credit card company say that has worked as far as they are concerned.
I guess I could try with a genuine Indian pin code. I've already tried two credit cards, so it's not the actual credit card that is the prob. Off to try again........ |

Back to the drawing board - just tried with a hotel address and got exactly the same message.
So I guess the quest now is for a reliable travel agent...... |

Many thanks - all safely booked via Cleartrip. I hadn't tried them as I understood they could not handle a foreign credit card, but that's obviously no longer true.
The weird thing is that Cleartrip asked me for an Indian address, which I gave, but never asked me for my UK address at which the credit card is registered at all! |

Well Sue, unlike in Britain where they take your billing address, in India its just your name, card/security # most times.

AFAIK, none of the airliens in India are accepting foreign credit cards any more. Something to do with fraud..

Foreign credit card acceptance.
I just checked with ixigo.com and this is the latest info they have on airlines that fly domestic routes, and if they accept foreign credit cards. Air India YES Air India Express YES Deccan YES Go Air NO Indian Airlines NO (merged with Air India) Indigo NO Jet Airways YES JetLite YES Kingfisher YES MDLR Airlines NO Paramount NO Spicejet YES Jagson Airlines - if anyone ever sees a Jagson flight, let me know, apparently they're still in business, but none of their flights seem to exist, and the only info from the website says "no availability for that day, please try the next day" - and it says that for all routes and for every day, maybe they're just the most successful airline in the world. ![]() I’ll also post this in the ‘domestic flights forum’.
