Bangalore to Kolkatta flight needed

I need to travel from Bangalore to Kolkatta on Apr-24th (Fri)...
The flight needs to depart Bangalore after 14:00 hrs and reach Kolkatta before 20:00 hrs...

To my surprise, i'm unable to find such a flight... i thought this would be a frequented sector (either direct or via Chennai)...

I did find an Indigo flight via Chennai, but it has conflicting information... one place they have a 15:35 departure and another place 18:00 dep...

Help !!!

I need to catch the 22:05 train in Kolkatta (going to Siliguri) and cannot take Friday off...

A quick check at the expedia site suggests that you cannot make those timings that easily. A mix-n-match is possible, provided you do not have checked baggage - As a friendly TA to work it out for you.

Thanks... I can see this flight on Kingfisher website...

Its expensive (Rs 5200), but what the heck

As long the flight is not late by more than 1 hour at Kolkatta.

Now next i need is how to get from the Kolkatta airport to Sealdah station... Another forum for that Q?

do what most do... take a pre-paid cab from the airport to your destination...

Or late by more than 30mins arriving into Chennai. I have taken risks like this in the past, but I sure do not like them!

Out of 7 flights on this sector, with 4 airlines, that I was able to search, all leave either early morning or late evening. No afternoon flight as such. the Indigo flight departs at 18:20 but has 1 stop and reaches CCU only by 21:55 - too late for your train.

I guess the ones you found involve changing planes in Chennai.

Its sometimes so frustating to find such few flights between major cities

I guess we'll have to risk it... If we miss the flight at Chennai, we'll miss our train and arrive very late in Kolkata... Maybe we'll have to take a flight to bagdogra next afternoon (no flights in the morning

) or hire a taxi to Siliguri late at night... one way or the other i'll get to Sikkim by 25th evening...

But this is the fun part of a complex planning effort for my 3 week India trip
