Same Problem!

I was just going to ask the same question.

I am trying to book a one-way flight from Delhi to Varanasi. I tried both Indian Airways and Spice Jet--even e-mailing their customer service desks--but they can't accept foreign credit cards online.

Do I:

1. Just wait until I get to India, and hope for the best? (Arriving in India Sept. 20, need flight for Sept. 22)

2. Try to find a travel agent here who can somehow book it for me? (But wouldn't they have the same problem?)

I would take the train, but I'm already taking 4 rail trips in two weeks. I want to fly this leg of my journey.

Help!!!

If other sites like expedia, makemytrip.com doesnt work..go to option #2- travel agent.

They stopped accepting intl. credit cards after a major fraud..i am not sure about the details though..try makemytrip.com

click on the ad. that way you probably will be contributing to IM's server charges

Thank you!

Didn't even think of booking through one of the usual travel websites!

I did a search on CheapTickets and "Kayak" ended up having the cheapest fare, on Kingfisher airlines. It then directed me to the Kingfisher page, which let me book the flight with my Mastercard, no problem.

Thank you!

On July 1st, i booked with Spice Jet online using my Visa no problem from Mumbai to Goa...Now i am trying to book Goa to Bombay...and it won't work!!! It says non Indians...Visa and Mastercard...however, it won't take my Visa!! SpiceJet doesn't come up on Expedia.., only Jet Airways which is way more expensive!!

Spice Jet didn't come up on any of the travel search engines that I tried. But my Kingfisher ticket was $87, which is good enough for me. I'm just happy to have that part of my trip booked and figured out. Now onto the rail ticket bookings! Eek!

Kingfisher is quite expensive

275 dollars for Delhi-Varanasi-Delhi while SpiceJet only 75 euros and STILL DO NOT ACCEPT FOREIGN CARDS!!!!!!!!!!

SpiceJet Reply

Here is the reply i got from SpiceJet today:

Dear Guest,

Thank you for writing to us.

Please note that once we start accepting the foreign cards we will inform all our guests through suitable media of commuincation.

This is to inform your good self that any of your known can also book the ticket on your behalf by paying in cash at the airport or by Indian credit card.

Alternatively, you may also get the booking confirmed from our counter by paying in cash or by swiping the credit card except (American Express) and the booking will be subject to the current available fare and seats on the flight or through a registered travel agent (the agent would charge extra as transaction fee and service tax).

Please note that in case guests are using your friends/relative’s credit card (Foreign credit card of American Express) then they are required to provide a signed authority letter/email confirmation from the card holder mentioning the following points and also require the credit card front and back side xerox copy.

1. The reason why he/she is not traveling.

2. The travel details (date of travel, name) of the guest(s) traveling.

3. The permanent address of the card holder.

4. The contact number of the card holder.

In case you need further clarification/assistance, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Thanks & Regards,

Isha Tuteja,

Customer Relations Department,

Spicejet Limited.

Well, i suggest all us foreigners to start sending complaint emails because they shouldn't keep having this policy and blocks us from traveling. Please if you like send complaint emails to the following email: custrelations@spicejet.com
