Hallo again, its me, Nick from Athens Greece! i think finally that my program is this: arrive in Delhi and take a taxi to go to Karol Bagh -to the place you told me -to rent a bike. Leave immediately (!) for Haridvar - Rishikesh ( the road is easy to go?? -or i'll get lost?) - then to Devaprayag, and then back to Delhi. - is there an option that i come back from Devaprayag to Rishikesh, leave the bike there and take a train to Varanasi??? i mean is there in Delhi somebody who rents bikes and has another shop in Rishikesh??? (so i wont have to drive back to Delhi) . when you say: 'i hope you fly out to Nepal΄ what do you mean?? -that its very difficult to go from Varanasi to Katmandu???
(...i hope you didnt freaked out from my so many questions..!!?)

thanx in advance
Nick

From Devprayag, you'll have to come to Rishikesh...that's the route to Delhi. But I am afraid, that kind of facility may not be available...please check with Lalliji.....

Going to Kathmandu, from Varanasi is not much of a problem......

There are not many airlines that will take you from KTM to ATH (Actually 3) without touching DEL or BOM. Its Qatar via Doha and Gulf via Bahrain and Thai via BKK

From Roorkee bus stand take a rickshaw, it should charge you Rs. 15 for railway Station.

If you are feeling hungry, just opposite the Roorkee bus stand is Divine Restaurant & Hotel. It's very good.

And as our Railway Guru Steven_ber has said, Roorkee is a small and safe place.....

I got to Roorkee early to have a look around for a few hours, it was very enjoyable, a typical town that doesn't see any tourists.

Outside the train station is a long quiet (by Indian standards) road with fruit sellers, chai stalls and loads of places for food.

I seem to remember that Taxis charge Rs300 from Rishikesh to Roorkee, but you should double check as this figure seems low to me (autos constantly rip off tourists travelling between Haridwar and Rishikesh), you'll see price boards outside some taxi places, look at these rather than asking a taxi driver.

Roorkee is small and quaint town.

It houses India's oldest Engineering College started by the British. It's known as Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee now. Campus is nice place.

It's Hqrs. of Bengal Enginerring & Sappers, a large army unit.

It has several research Institutes like Central Building Research Institute, National Institute of hydrology etc....

Nearby village of 'Kaliyar' is known for the mausoleum of a Muslim Peer.......
