All about Domestic Flights

That's good point, I'll keep it in mind. Thank you for your helpful answer.
The US has some wacky regulations regarding the size of bottles of liquids allowed in carry-on luggage, the fact that your shoes must go through an x-ray machine, and there is now a rule in effect that subjects passengers to random pat-downs of the breasts and testicles (that's a new one -- it's invasive enough that sometimes people cry). I'm going to be taking a couple of domestic flights while in India. I assume they will not be as unpleasant as flying in America. But are there any interesting rules for flights within India that I should be aware of?

Ruby81, liquids don't seem to be an issue on Indian domestic flights. They say that there is a 100 ml. limit but I've not seen this enforced (nor do you have to separate liquids from you luggage). Things which might be helpful, you will need your e-ticket or equivalent and passport to enter any Indian airport. When you check in, ensure that you receive and place luggage tags on your carry-on(s). At security, you will not need to remove your shoes. If you have a laptop, that will have to go into the machine separately (they will usually give you a token and place a corresponding token with the tray containing your laptop. Once your carry-ons are ready for the machine, you will need to step through the metal detector (go to the one with the security guard behind it corresponding to your sex. You will then step on a platform to be wanded down. They will stamp your boarding pass. You can then go collect your carry-ons, ensure that the luggage tags on those have been stamped as well. When you board, the stamps will be checked. Not so bad, but somewhat different than other places. Note, in many Indian airport, photography is not allowed.

Try expedia.co.in, makemytrip.com, travelocity.co.in They all are flexible. I need to book a few domestic flights whilst in India. What would be the best way to do this & of course to save money where possible?

One thing to keep in mind is that although Spicejet fares are declared "refundable" till two hours before the ETD but the money would be kept by the airline and one can only use that by booking Spicejet tickets. There is another catch there. You can't use this money to buy tickets from their airport or city counters, only on-line purchase with credit card is allowed!
