cleartrip dot com doesn't take international credit cards as of today, although they say they're working on it. Is there any way out?

Using international credit card for domestic flight

Ok, if what I'm seeing now is correct, it would be a good news for many. I went to makemytrip.com (http://www.makemytrip.co.in/makemytrip/MMTHome.do) and I could book an Indian domestic flight using an international credit card.

As for resident vs, nonresident fare, there was an article on TOI late last year saying that major airlines abolished that distinction. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...how/402063.cms
could someone confirm if this is still correct? That would clarify a lot of things.

Very useful information - have read whole thread, and found the flight I want.

But I have a basic question - do I need a passport number in order to book a flight? Because - I just sent mine in to be renewed. I'd like to book this now if possible as I know what I want to do now and it's for Feb. 8.

I had to give my passport number to book an Air Deccan flight, but not for Indian Airlines or Jet Airways (all done on-line for e-tickets).

Makemytrip complaints

During the last two months I'm trying to get the money back from Makemytrip.

A ticket that was never delivered was charged to my credit card.
They give me the details of the ticket and it was for another indian passenger, but was charged to me! And they found that normal!

After, a flight was cancelled by the company, and I'm requesting them to refound the money back.

Any ideas about how to make a complaint to any organization that could help me?

Thanks a lot

You might try Make My Trip's feedback section. I found that they responded quickly and effectively to problems I had with ticket delivery and flight changes.

'share.feedback@makemytrip.com '

Good Luck.

Southbeach...

I'm in contact by mail with these people, waiting for a calls that they promise but never does.

Also, when the bad transaction happened in their web, I sent a feedback form, but they never give me any response.

Thanks.

Hi caff2002, I have seen manny other tourists (including many Indians) duped by this MakeMyTrip portal. They have a fantastic promotion team and huge advertising campaigns but whole loads of complaints about them as well (mostly pertaining to refunds).
There are many people who are taking legal action against MMT (I am member of another portal mouthshut.com where people share their feedbacks about firms).
I believe you are not an Indian national which makes your problems even more difficult.
Best way is to keep pestering them (on mails/phone etc) about the refund and publicize your problem wherever you can. Last resort is you file a suit against them (pray it never reaches this stage).
Best of luck.

Call the company that issued your credit card.

When I used MakeMyTrip, I also received confirmation emails for two trips that didn't make in addition to the one I made. I immediately emailed them back indicating which trip number is mine and which aren't, they apologized and only charged for mine.

I thought that was just me, but given problems other people experienced, I have to warn against makemytrip for now. Maybe they have a bug in their system.

I had problems with Indian train reservation system and now this. I've thought that IT was India's strength

has anyone flown on SpiceJet?

First, Caff2002, I definitely recommend contacting your credit card company about your problem. Tell them you want to dispute the charges to your card. I had to do this once before (for an American product I bought, but wasn't delivered, yet I was charged.) The bank (it was a check card...) was able to refund all of my money. I think I had to submit a form describing exactly what happened, dates and everything. It was relatively hassle free.

Thanks for the heads up everyone about MakeMyTrip. I used it just to find all of the flights on the day I want to fly, but I'm avoiding purchasing through them at all costs.

On to my question. Has anybody flown on SpiceJet? I'm wondering about people's experiences booking online, and actually traveling.

Thanks!

We flew with Spicejet last March - absolutely no problems with booking from the UK as we'd booked a few months previously. Flights were on-time and excellent. I can recommend them.
