Goa-Calcutta flights.

Gosh....thankyou. What a brilliant site. Tempting to fly down to Goa too now instead of 38 hrs on the train seeing as it is made so much easier with a site like this!
Can I book flights from UK and if so, is it very much more expensive?

There is a credit card problem with many Indian airlines, they don't allow bookings with foreign credit cards, look for other threads (or maybe earlier in this thread) for more details.

The site I suggested (IXIGO) links to the airline's own websites for paying, so that may not be easy given the credit card situation.

Have a look on the following website's, I think they may charge you direct, so may not have a problem with foreign credit cards, but I really don't know, so have a good read first.

http://www.cleartrip.com/ (another good site)

http://www.makemytrip.co.in/makemytrip/MMTHome.do

If all else fails, telephone S. D. Enterprises in Wembley, NW London, the man there is a genius when it comes to travel in India, but I don't know how they charge for plane tickets. (they use Indrail Passes for train tickets), so get a quote for the plane tickets, then do a search for other prices, it may still be worth paying a little extra to S. D. Enterprises if it avoids any credit card problems and gets you the tickets in your hand.

EDIT, I just called S. D. Enterprises, they don't do domestic airline bookings.

Hello -

We had no problem using our international credit card booking online via the Jet Airways website. Couldn't make an internet booking on any other domestic airline site - credit card problems with most sites or server problems of some other sort. We found the easy solution was to book the next leg of our journey as we were exiting the domestic terminal upon arrival. Only time this didn't work was when Air Deccan couldn't handle our international credit card via even their airport desk in Bangalore.

Hope this is helpful -

GM

I got few tickets y'day..Air Deccan for Delhi-Mumbai on 28th September and Spicejet on 3rd October..Goa-Delhi..

I used a Indian Citibank card, however so server problems or delays whatsoever ..

By the way the tickets are going very cheap..specially the Mumbai-Goa sector...so anyone planning a holiday and easily get a ticket for Rs. 1700-2000 (Including tax) from Mumbai to Goa..and for around Rs. 2500 (With tax) Delhi to Mumbai...

But ofcourse no International cards here...only Indians can benefot from the info..

Air Deccan now accepts (at least some) foreign-issued VISA and MasterCards. This morning I booked an AD flight, BBI-HYD, and printed out an e-ticket.

I had previously booked, with US-issued cards, flights on India Airlines, Jet Airways, and Kingfisher Air.

Bombay(mumbai)to Vijayawada, problems booking an internal flight
for 5th april 2008,and return to Bombay on 16th April 2008,in time to fly from Bombay to Heathrow on 17-4-08.Kingfisher show 1
flight per day but when I press select on Kayak .co.uk search engine it diverts to Kingfisher site, this then says flight not found.
We did ring Kingfisher in India and a guy there was most helpful and gave us a reservation no,when we try to book on a visa card no joy.
We know of problems with foreign credit cards so have taken out an AMEX card but still no success.
Can anyone help ?.

@maltabella,

They must have sent you the Ref. No or the PNR number. If you do not receive any mail from them, please go to the airline website and print the ticket through the PNR number supplied by makemytrip.com.

I booked Delhi-Goa-Delhi by Indigo and got a very good deal Rs.3998 return.
Check fares at both makemytrip.com and cleartrip.com I have seen the same fights offered at different prices.

thank you so much himmat01
PNR number provided by makemytrip seems to be the ticket number on air deccan site. I printed the receive by entering in Modify/cancel section of deccan site but could not find any re-print e-ticket section, do you maybe know how to find it?
