Websites for Travel Assistance

I understand the changes in travel and new airlines popping up, seems like every few months! That is a growing economy at 9%! I would direct people also for assistance to the LINKS section of www.Flyingdoc.org, a non profit organisation , based in US, which has excellent information on travel websites as well as weather, etc! Good luck!

So we now fly Mumbai- Udaipur on New Years Eve!!! Yay
Hi - how do you get to chat online on the make my trip site? We've tried ringing them and aren't getting very far. They say we can't pay using our Australian credit card and are quoting a higher price than the original quote. Can you help!

Click on the 'Live Web Chat' and make sure your browser is enabled for popups.

Hi Thanks for your reply. We can chat online through the US makemytrip site but their reply is that they can only book international flights. They told us to go to the India makemytrip site -

http://india.makemytrip.com/ and chat online there , but there is no 'live chat' button on that site. We've also tried ringing them. We get a higher price quoted and have to pay by depositing money in a bank account in New Delhi. Has anyone else been asked to do this and did it work?

I have looked for different airlines and it seems that I can´t book a flight with a foreign credit card. Also in makmytrip.com.
Sad What option do I have? Use a local travel agent? Any suggestions about Delhi?

OK - go to the Indian site as per your link and on the left side of the page half way down you'll see "round the clock customer service" with a little clock picture. Click there and you go to a new page and in the same place is the live chat button. If you are out of sync with the time, you don't get a person, just an email-ey type thing, if they are there, you get a person and its all plain sailing from there. Just tell them where you want to go, the deal on their site, and that you want to use a foreign card.

They quoted me higher price than the web special initially, but then when they came back with the booking it was the same price as the web special.

If you're getting none of this it's also possible you're blocking something and you'll need to look into that.

Kingfisher airlines will take a foreign credit card if you go direct through their site www.flykingfisher.com They tend to be a bit on the expensive side and dont connect all locations, but I often use them just for the ease of the credit card thing.

Hi - Thank you very much. We finally figured it out anyway a few days ago, but we have not had a good time trying to deal with them. After a lot of transferring on to people who then just didn't reply, we finally had a long on line conversation and at last thought we had secured flights on Indian Airlines. We sent a fax with credit card details, but didn't get any acknowledgement. We contacted again the next day and were told that those seats weren't available but he could get us Kingfisher, except that his price was more expensive than on the Kingfisher site. We gave up then, in frustration. Does it depend on the person you get I wonder? Any further tips?

It must - I had one good person, then I had to have an Indian phone number so I had to go away for a few days while I waited to try and book accommodation, and then I had a bad person, then fimally another good one, and all was well!

I wrote them an e-mail last night because i needed a copy of one of my old proofs of purchase and they sent it to me a few hours later. They are incredibly efficient!

I was very pleased with their services!

Hmmm, maybe i should look into their stock options...
I am going to book all my internal flights with these next month when the December bookings come online. They do look the cheapest and best option.
