Question delhi international airport

Hi!

Further question about coming back. Is the departure tax included in the airline ticket? If not, is it payable in rupees or western currency?

Flying by BA at 03.25 on Friday, so any quick answers please? The BA website doesn't answer the question and it seems impossible to e-mail them.

Regards

John

Smile Transfer time between Intl & Dom terminals

Hi Guys,

I'm sure I've read the answer to this somewhere but I can't find it anywhere now.

Is three hours long enough between landing at Delhi Intl terminal (10.45am landing)and departing from Delhi Domestic Terminal (13:45 departure) with Jet.

It will be a Saturday in high season, if that makes a difference to traffic levels.

Look forward to a response

first trip to delhi

hi guys
i have a problem at hand I will be reaching delhi international (continental) at 8:15pm and i have to leave for mumbai (air india and was not purchased from the same vendor) in next 6 hours that is at 2am (i am not sure which terminal this would be from ).
taking into consideration the baggage claim and all formalities i think i will be done by 10:30 pm .

What is the best & reliable way to commute to the domestic airport at 10:30pm ? with 3-4 bags and having heard a lot of con stories about delhi I am not sure as to how to tackle this scenario.

It would be gr8 if you provide your valuable suggestions ?

Since both tickets are purchase by different vendor can i use the shuttle ?
is the shuttle available at that time ?
is there a way to procure a prepaid card on the airport at 11 pm ?

Thanks
euclid

You need not worry. AI flights whether domestic or international depart from the international terminal.

Delhi Terminals

I arrive on Virgin at 11am, and leave for Dehradun from Terminal 1 ( I think) on Deccan Air at 13:20 - is this going to be enough time to get from the International to the Domestic Terminals?

Thanks!

Hi,

about the free shuttle to domestic airport....

-does it leave inside the airport premises (like in Mumbai) if so, where exactly...or do I have to step outside?

-is it free for all passengers (no matter what domestic airline you are flying with)?

Cheers!

Hi nyenyedzi,

IF your Virgin flight is on time it should be perfectly ok. The distance btw domestic and int. terminal is just about 6 kms.
Remember though that Air Deccan check-in closes strickly 30 min. prior to flight. Passengers who do not comply with the check-in deadline and report late are deemed as ‘no-show’ passengers and are denied boarding without refund.

So you have 1 hour 50 mntes to collect your bags, go through imigation and get yourself to domestic terminal.
Personally I wouldn´t book a conecting flight that close cause anything can happen.... that´s just for the sake my own mental health

Cheers!

So nowadays I always try to clear out berorehandof where shoud I go etc. Eases my nerv pressure surprizingly well

you have to step outside in Delhi, and it is free for all passengers, regardless of the domestic airline.

i wouldnt worry too much about the location of the bus. ask somebody just after clearing customs. the airport is not that large, anyway, and there is a method to the madness!

have a good time.

Thanks alot capt! I´ll ask around... uuuh.. I just remeber well the one time I was in Mumbai and when I had to ask around... I ended up walking back and forth with my luggage with about 5 taxi drivers following me like hyeenas... and everyone I asked gave me a different answer of where the shuttle should be leaving

Hello All,

It is so nice to know there is a forum for asking the questions that I can't find the answers to!

I have just a couple of quick questions in regard to the Delhi Airport (International and Domestic). I will be travelling into the International Airport/Terminal, landing at 11:30 p.m. My departing flight is out of the Domestic Airport/Terminal at 8:00 a.m.

1. I have heard mention of an airport dormitory. Does anyone know where this is located, and how can I reserve a bed?
2. Otherwise, I am not sure if I should sleep in the International Airport Arrival area, as many have mentioned, or take the shuttle to the Domestic Airport and sleep there? Does anyone know which is preferable?

I am a woman from the U.S., traveling alone.

My other option is to take a cab to a cheap hotel and sleep there for four hours before heading back...

If anyone has any advice, I would value it.

Thank you in advance,

Jacque

New Delhi Airport

The master plan for the redevelopment of Delhi airport has been announced.
By 2008, a new runway will be operational.
Terminal 3 building will be commissioned in 2010.
The Delhi Metro train line will be extended from the city center to the airport, also providing a direct link to the railway stations.

Changing money at Delhi Int Airport

Please could somebody advise me as I will be arriving at Delhi Int Airport next week at approx midnight, and will need to change T/Cheques to Rupees. I realise that theres an ATM in the Airport, but in this instance would need to use a Money Exchange / Bank. Is there one open at this late hour.
many thanks for any advice
