Airport entry with e-ticket

Both questions for Delhi Airport:

I hear one needs a 'regular' ticket to get into the international airport. Are there any issues with e-tickets and getting into the airport?

Also, I have an Air Deccan 'pnr' confirmation by email. Will this be enough to get onto the free bus from the international to domestic airport.

Anyone with first hand experience?

Cheers in advance for your replies.

If I travel aboard I always book a e-ticket online, very easy and no trouble waiting by the check-in if you have any bags you can drop them off by a special counter. I can also print the boarding card online and book the seat. If you can do the same you will not have any trouble.

I book e-tickets by KLM, Air France, North West Airlines

Absolutely no problems.
I've been using e-tickets for all my international travels to & from New Delhi from last 8 months and have not faced any problems.

Last year when I had my first e-ticket I had worries too.

It's easy to think that India won't be up-to-date with something like that, but I was wrong to think like that. It's not as if they used bullock carts to taxi the aircraft !

(what a lovely mental pic: wish I had the graphics skill to make it!)

No Problem

I just flew to the States two days ago with an e-ticket from New Delhi.

When you reach the entrance door, show your passport and/or your computer printout. The guard then checks your name against passenger lists that are taped on the wall behind them before letting you in. Absolutely no problem. (Actually, it kind of reminded me of the passenger lists pasted to trains.)

Control at Chennai doesn't seem to be as strict as it was. The nobody-in-the-main-door-without-a-ticket rule seems to have been relaxed and I didn't show my ticket until I got to the first baggage security check.

I didn't try and get 30 friends and relatives inside with me, though

Try Amritsar airport. You get people walking past the runway to get to a shrine/temple some one built in the 1950s.
