Air Travel To India During The Gulf War

We're scheduled to fly out to Goa by charter on 4 April. Originally we booked the flight as it was direct. Just been notified by the carrier that due to a change of aircraft (from Airbus A330 to Airbus A300 - perhaps because the MOD have chartered A330's for Gulf War duties??) the flight will now refuel at Azerbaijan !!

Any thoughts on safety implications??

Regards

Bill

there should be no problems, the airline should be well informed of the situation in azerbaijan and would not take any chances.

if there was a danger the airline would just find another country to refuel.

it would be good if you could have a day in baku just to see what the place is like.
