Air Travel around India

We are travelling from Varanasi to Kochin then back to Mumbai then to Udiapur. We wondered if the India Airline deal $500.00 US fly anywhere is the best option. Do we need to book ahead or can we arrange flights a couple of days before.Seems there are some horror stories re India Airlines. Should we be looking to fly with someone else?

That seems a bit high if that's all the local flying you are doing. I'm paying $275 from Udaipur to Mumbai to Kochi on Jet Airways.

Total up the cost of your individual trips and see how it compares with the pass. But also consider intangibles: a pass will bind you to one airlines's schedule and seat availability, with a la carte you will be free to buy an available seat on any carrier.

Generally, Jet Airways have the best reputation in India. I think even Sahara is ahead of Indian Airlines.
