Thanks. I have tried through the feedback, but I did not received any feedback so far. We pushed in the meanwhile TUI and the Italian representative and now the reservation should be correct. We will reconfirm the flight when will be in India.

Do you hve any information about cabin luggage allowances? do they allow one item only (as in UK) or we can bring one hand luggage+ one bag to be located under the seat?

Thanks
Sara

In India they let you carry a hand bag (small) along with one cabin luggage but not sure what they do on international flights. Hope things would be sorted properly for you.

When I flew out of Bagdogra to Calcutta last month, restrictions on liquids, creams etc were being enforced. (Same policy as UK/Europe)

They seemed to be less strict at Calcutta.

Yes, none of these items would be allowed. Also, again as in Europe or USA, such restrictions are imposed and enforced by security personnel and have nothing to do with any particular airline.

But in Europe you can bring in a plastic bag separate from the rest of the luggage liquids and paste in boxes non larger than 100ml each not exceeding. Is it the same also in India?

As Steambuff says, basically yes. But this depends a lot on: (1) the individuals on duty, (2) any recent alerts, (3) the airport itself (Srinagar would be much more strict than Lucknow). You can't do much about it, so take the least possible and be prepared for it to be confiscated.

I have just heard about the announcement of the merge between Jet Airways and Air Sahara had been announced in the past days.
In your opinion What I should expect for my travel next August? Rescheduling/cancellations?

Why would you expect cancellations? The merger just means that Jet now owns both sets of slots. There is no real reason for them to cancel or reschedule anything in the short term. Your tickets should still be valid whatever happens.

No, actually I do not know, I was just thinking that maybe they will restructure the routes... I have also read that the new company will be called Jetlite and will be a kind of low costs. I do not know if some of you has more precise news (today for example the flights I should be in are delayed by 9 hours...It is the 1st time that I saw that happening in the 2 months I am checking the flight schedules...)

I think just the ex-Sahara piece will be rebranded as Jet Lite (Jet as it stands will still be called Jet). It is not in their (Jet's) interest to cancel anything (at least short term). The last thing they want/need is disillusioned (OK pissed off) customers.

You might be interested in this thread from a forum mostly frequented by professional pilots. The most recent post mentions the merger, and it seems that it was the best thing to happen to Sahara, given the info in the rest of the thread.

The only time that they might change/cancel a flight is if both JET and Sahara were flying the same route within a few hours of each other, then they would just merge the flights into one.

Wow, you are having some issues with this particular one. I am sure you could not have expected this merger but in all probability things will work well for you.

Well the merger has been on the cards for a year. The thing is, without the merger, Air Sahara may have failed completely, which would certainly have ruined any plans to fly. This merger should be viewed very positively, in the absense of any other evidence. No sense in pessimism (yet )
