Air Sahara - experiences?

I'm looking into flying back to Delhi from Kerala in May, after making my way south overland.
Online, Air Sahara offers one-way prices of 290 EUR... but as cheap as 100 EUR if you book 30 days in advance and 170 EUR if booked 5 days in advance.

Anyone with experiences of Sahara? It seems their prices are better than AirIndia and Jet... so is there a catch? i have good experiences with budget airlines in Europe - and don't feel like giving AirIndia $600 for the same trip.

Jeroen, I would double check that those prices are available to non-Indian tourists.

Good tip, thanks Steven. I'm very blond and Germanic-looking so I don't think I could fake it.

The one month advance discounted prices (also called APEX fares) are not for the visiting foreigners. only for the locals.

I've had Mumbai-Bangalore and Bangalore-Mumbai flight with Air Sahara and got to my destination on time. Though the security checks were really thorough. They also asked my boarding pass (again) when I was seated in the planne. But yes, the food was nice.

Hi,
I have very good experience with Air Sahara. Infact i found the rate wise it is the best. You can get a good price through bidding. For Kerala mumbai when all airlines were quoting a price of 50% discount , if u book in 30 days in advance ( that will come to Rs 3099 ) , through air sahara bidding i got the ticket for kerala mumbai for just 2060 (indian Rs). For bidding the Site link is this..http://airsahara.indiatimes.com/home/saharahome.html
My opinion is that u try out.Kochin-Delhi sector i think there is bidding.
happy journey
see ya

Wink Sahara airline

I last took them 2 years ago. No problems, food good everyone courteous. took Indian airlines around the North - okay but late. Was glad I have left a lot time to make connections.
Almost all Indian Airlines have special fare packages around India.
I don't know what current prices are. They can be anywhere for a week to much longer with as many stops as you want, however, no backtracking except for planes changes.
Probably worth it if you are going for 2-3 weeks or shorter with many stops.
I think you can check websites of individual airlines.

Confirmed with air sahara in their help line that the offer is only for indians. Well the agent first said its possible when I asked to to recheck and get back, he rechecked and said not possible.

I can't comment on prices as I don't pay for my tickets. However I was pleased with the Sahara service. Delays are part of the India travel experience.
