Syrian airlines ..................where to start ? The perfect introduction to coping in india. It all started so welll....leave london on time and arrive in Frankfurt to find the plane has a problem ...24 hours later leave Frankfurt but they put us up in a sound hotel. No real i8ssue that the meal is the same on this leg as LHR to Frankfurt and real pleased if you want a cig just join the crew in the galley area. Third leg quiet but ...same meal but galley still well populated by crew and smokers. Fourth leg ......where did all these people come from ...same meal ....total chaos .....hand luggage quota ..forget it. Smoking bans ...there were people cooking meals. I swear there were more people than seats and when we touched down at Delhi there were fights between the cabin crew and pasengers as the wheels touched the tarmac. Strange to say I loved it but had to feel bad for the passengers on the return flight that got on Delhi, booked through to LHR only to find themselves stranded in Damascas !!! Again the hand luggage quota was a joke..... 5 gallon containers of holy water filled every locker ............ Syrian airlines ... a different way to fly ....

There are often cheap flights around at this time of year because there are less people travelling to India during monsson I suppose.
I wish they were this cheap from Nov to April!

There are lots of adverts up for the new Air India flight to Amritsar with fares quoted as from £320. Should be a similar fare to Delhi from Birmingham the flight to Amritsar flies on to Delhi.

Might be worth checking on www.airindia.com to see if you can get one of these magic £320 tickets.

My agent said prices go up in July. Made no sense to me - i'd also have thought no-one would be travelling then.

School holidays are in July and for NRI's and PIO what could be better than spending 6 weeks in India with the kids. I did 3 trips as a school kid during the summer break. (Once I even managed to get an extra 2 weeks off so went for a total of 8 weeks )
