Has anyone flown air deccan from Delhi recently? What had been your experience?

I flew air deccan to Bangalore just before christmas and they were fine, I have no complaints. I flew back with spice jet and was delayed for 2 hours at 1 in teh morning.

Flew from bangalore to Delhi in june..

Flight was on time.. no issues. reached Delhi safely..

whenever i travel in Air Deccan i keep a buffer of 2 hrs. Maybe you should also do that. They are renowned for flight delays.

Seconding Phantom, my Delhi-Hyde flight arrived 1 hour late. My Delhi friend who travels for business a lot says the same. However, they are cheaper than SpiceAir. Like most Indians I have more time than money. ;-)

I travelled Bangalore-Delhi in November (rush time Diwali festival) and the flight was on time but on other Air Deccan flights I or my other family members have faced delays.

Some things to keep in mind when traveliing in air deccan..

1. Avoid traveling to north India in winter..
2. if ur flight in in the middle of the day, there are more chances of delay.
3. As far as possible, fly in the morning flight to avoid delays.

These guys have limited aircrafts and the same aircrafts flies in multiple routes.. If there is any delay in one of the earlier flights, there is a cascading effect and delay on all other routes on which this aircraft had to fly.

Yes..Its smooth exprience with them.

flew from Bangalore to Goa in dec, the flight go delayed by 40min, but the service at the airport was good now other issues if they stick to their time schedules they will definitely be competing with other airlines in every department.

Here's my thread, with some not-so-good experiences:
Wouldn't recommend Air Deccan

Last night took the airdeccan flight from Delhi at 8:20 PM for Kolkata. The flight was almost on time. The leg space is horribly small for a bit tall person like me. Luckily there were quite a few rows empty so streched out & slept.
Having read all the horror stories about airdeccan I think I must have been very lucky or things have really improved? I will fly spice jet from Kolkata to Delhi. Lets see what is in store!

Flown by deccan, spice n kingfisher quite a few times on the blr - delhi route.. Except one instance the flight wasn't delayed by over 30 mins..

As far as service quality goes Kingfisher beats all others hands down..

Flew Air Deccan as follows:

1.From Bangalore to Goa ona prop plane: no assigned seating. pleasant but slow flight . arrived on time,

2.From Bangalore to Delhi on a Airbus -- assigned seat. horrible leg room. 3 hour delay over delhui due to fog - not AirDeccan's fault.

3. From Delhi to Bangalore: Flight cancleed due to fog. Received an SMS less than 24 hours before the flight. Was asked to call a number for details. Called, but no one answered. but a most of the domestic flights were canceled

4. From Bangalore to Hyderabad: could not make the flight as flight #3 was canceled by Air Deccan. Air Deccan refused to give full refund. I have disputed it on my credit card.

5. From Hyderabad to Bangalore on a prop plane. No assigned seat. decent leg room. arrived on time.

Bottom Line: Air Deccan keeps their planes busy. If you flight is later during the day, there is a good chance that it will be delayed if your plane was delayed on one of its earlier flights. Great value for money.
