Air Deccan
Air Deccan
We are thinking of using Air Deccan in November from Goa to Bangalore, does anyone who has used them answer me two questions please, do Indian nationals get concession fares and when you book on the website and pay by creditcard from England, how do you acquire the tickets ie are they picked up at Goa airport on day of travel or are they sent to your home address?.

They do not send the tickets to your home. The printout from your computer also known as the e-ticket is all that is required. Keep in mind that Airdeccan ONLY allows 15kg of luggage and they do not provide any alternate means of travel in case your flight is cancelled. No hotel accomodation either. Their website does not mention anything about seniors discount but all the other airlines in India offer seniors discount to Indian nationals with Air Sahara giving the most discount.

is anyone having trouble with the Air Deccan site? I can load up the main page, but when I try to use the flight reservation on the left it doesn't process my request. Its like I never clicked on search at all. Also, clicking those hyperlinks with the prices of 721 rupees dont take me anywhere.
Browser problem ?

Hi Kanbe,The website http://www.airdeccan.net is working fine for me, though it is kind of slow. The search and the links do work for me. Since you can load the main page, it shouldn't be a problem with the speed of your internet connection. Are you maybe using a browser which does not allow Javascript ? It's unusual, but still can happen.
It might help to try accessing the website from another computer.
HTH,
Vishal
i took air-deccan flight from mumbai to delhi on 29th april for 44XX bucks (dont remember exact amt)
it was the cheapest flight i was gettin
they dont serve free food in the flight. u got to pay for it
eg : chicken noodles for 40 bucks , small juice pack (the 200ml one) for 20 bucks and so on
but the flight does have small lcd screen (after every 3 seats). dat keeps u busy. but again u got to buy earphones for the same (30 bucks i guess)
the leg space is a bit less (i am 180cm tall)
the buses which take u till the plane arent airconditioned
so , there r cost-cutting measures in use.. which r actually not that bad
the website worked fine for me , but i directly booked my flight from the airport a day in advance. got a print out page , which i submitted inside the airport , 90mins b4 the flight , to get the actual boardin pass.
most of the low priced seats have been taken up ,. still the last day fares r lower than other airlines
do look out for the new low cost flights from kingfisher , they promise , dey will be cheaper and better value for money than deccan

Air Deccan is getting squeezed a bit, I think. On my last flight (March 13th), it was suggested that I book an earlier flight than the 3:30 (or something) from Dabolim to Mumbai. It arrived 5 hours late.
I flew several other times with them (all early flights) and the timing and service was better than adequate.
I don't have the article handy, but a couple of days ago in TOI online was the story of Air Deccan offering 4 seats per flight (booked 3 months in advance) for Re 1.

Oh, to answer your question...
You'll be registering online and they won't send you tickets - print your confirmation page and take it with you. Even if you book at a travel agent in India all you'll get is the confirmation page.
And I doubt if there are different fares for Indians - Air Deccan sells cheaper based on how early you book your flight (see Re 1 fare below).
