Unhappy Advice Needed Urgently

Hi all,

I want to book a flight from Kuala lumpur(Malaysia) to Ahmedabad. I already have booked my tickets from Kuala lumpur to Cochin. My flight details are,
Kuala lumpur to Cochin (AirAsia)
Departure 14:50 and arrival at Cochin is 16:30
1. Now the problem is there is not Connecting flight after 16:30 hours. So I have chosen GoAIR which is at 19:15 from Cochin to Mumbai arraives at 21:10.
What do you think, duration of 2:45 hours is enough to catch a Domestic flight after International arrival? Or should I go for 3 to 4 hours gap? (Clearing X-ray, Immigration, Check in)
2. And from Mumbai arrival at 21:10, I have flight for Ahmedabad at 22:20. (Only 1:10 hours gap). Will I get into a trouble?

Please suggest me. Its urgent.

Millions of Thanks in advance.

Yogesh,

You wouldn't find much issue in Cochin. It is a comparatively smaller airport and both terminals are located in the same premises unlike Mumbai.

But on your COK-BOM-AMD leg, you will be in for trouble if your flight is bit late. Hope you would be carrying checkin luggage too. Is BOM-AMD also by Go Air - then there would be some respite.

Generally during that time there is heavy traffic in Mumbai Airport and flights circle around for quite a long time and there is a delay in landing.

Meanwhile, can you give flight details from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.

Unhappy my proposed flight schedule

Here is my proposed flight schedule,

Cochin 19:15 - Mumbai 21:10 GoAir (G8-452)
Mumbai 22:20 - Ahmedabad 23:25 Kingfisher (IT - 3136)

Cochin to Mumbai if I arrive on time, but then the problem is my Ahmedabad flight is departing at 22:20, so I only have 1 hour and 10 minutes between two flights. And also its not a connecting one, So I have to collect my baggage and all and reach for boarding the next flight. What do you thing? What should I do. The next (economical)flight is directly at 05:30 AM.

Pls guide me !

Thanks a lot

Why not you try IC 162 leaving Cochin at 1845 hrs.. Go Air is located in Terminal 1B and KF in Terminal 1A of Mumbai Airport. So, you need to do big of moving around too. As regards Indian Airlines and KF, both are in the same terminal. Also, you have a cushion of half an hour.

I dont think it would be a problem to catch the flight at 1845 if your Air Asia is on time or even late by half an hour.

But my Kuala lumpur to Cochin (Air-Asia)flight arrival is at 16:30 and Air-India (IC-162) is departing at 18:45, So do you really think that I can catch the flight of Air-India in 2 hours and 15 minutes difference? Including baggage collection, immigration, security check and boarding? Because I am bit worried about that!

Otherwise thats the best thing for me, if this is really possible as per your suggestion!

Awaiting reply

I think you should go on the IC suggestion. With Go air you are taking a huge risk with your KF flight connection.

Yogesh,

Cochin is a very small airport compared to Delhi / Mumbai. There wont be too many flights landing at the same time delaying immigration. So, if your flight lands at 4.30 p.m., max you will collect your baggage by 5.30 p.m. If at all there is going to be a delay, you can request Indian Airlines officials.

Even while landing in Mumbai, Go Air being a low cost one would be given parking bay bit far and the bus would take 10 minutes to drop you in arrival hall.

PS : Would request you to please see the track record of Air Asia - what time it lands in Cochin.

ok,... ya, I searched some forums on net and people say Air Asia is mostly reliable. So now I am booking my tickets in Air-India (IC-162) for Mumbai and Kingfisher(IT-3136) from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Now between these Cochin to mumbai I have 2 hours and 15 minutes gap and from Mumbai to Ahmedabad I have 1 hour and 40 minutes gap.

Thank you very much for you valuable replies and time...

@Arunganpath & @Ribhu

Hi,

I just found that Air-India is operating at 2c in Mumbai air port, and Kingfisher operates on 1b,...it won't be a issue while having 1 hour and 45 minutes of time in Mumbai airport?

Please suggest me ! Is it safe to book,..?

Yogesh,

2C is in the international terminal. As this flight you will be catching from Cochin is a domestic one, it will land in Terminal 1A and Kingfisher is also from Terminal 1A only.
