6 hours at Jammu Airport.

Next month, I along with my family, would be spending six hours at Jammu airport since we were unable to get seats on the direct Leh-Delhi flight.

I appreciate any help or ideas on how to while away these six hours.

Can we goto the city?. Would it be worthwhile? How far is the airport from the city itself?

And how are the facilities at the airport?. Any good place to have lunch?.

Jammu Airport is drab ! Not much to do.... it's on the main road to city, around 15 minutes drive away.

Just outside the airport, you get buses which go to the city centre. so you can come outside and take a bus/taxi to the city and may visit Rahgunath temple.

Is it possible to get OK lunch at the airport?

Why dont you take a Taxi and go to Suchetgarh border in R.S.Pura sector. The BSF men allow you to go right up to the IB barrier. Its just about 25 kms/45 mnts drive. You can then use the same taxi to go to Gol Market (15mnts drive from airport) and have a meal there.

Jammu airport..well the less spoken about it the better!!!
