Up for adoption!

Every now and than we get information about dogs or cats that need new homes. Of course there are always more animals than homes but you never know so from now on I will put all such requests on this thread.

Today's adoptive is a 1 year old male Rottweiler named Oscar who is looking for a home in New Delhi.

Oscar is very friendly to people and does not have any of his breed's aggressiveness but he is not a easy dog to manage either.

He has had a bad time growing up and while he loves people he does not like other animals (cats and dogs).

In addition he is presently not in the best of health and needs care and attention. He has tick fever and is anemic in due to lack of nutrition. He is getting treated and can easily recover completely but to do so he needs a home URGENTLY.

So we are looking for a loving home in New Delhi where he can experience the good sites of life as he has known very little of that so far.

Anybody interested do let me know and I will pm you the contact details.

NO BREEDERS PLEASE!

Hi Birds,

Not able to help in this instance - too many rescue animals in resdidence already.

But great effort, and I wish the dog finds a loving family!

Poor Oscar. I hope he's rewarded with a loving and caring home. He certainly deserves it.

Thanks both for the support!

Unfortunately he is still sitting there. Some people seem to be intimidated by him even do he is very, very sweet!

Are there no IMers who know of a good dog loving family in Delhi??

Birds

Great effort, I must say. A photo of Oscar would actually help those that may be undecided - who can say no to a cutie.

Cheers and I pray that Oscar finds a loving home.

Now THAT's what you'd call "acceptance". What a beautiful example.

Unfortunately no news yet on Oscar but I will ask again.

At least Oscar's sorry state has given us Jasmine's beautiful story .

I have a dog called Panda that is a little similar. Whenever I have foster pups she will take care of them, sleeps with them and pushes them to play. It is very cute. One of my other dogs, called Kruimel, often finds abandoned puppies and when he does he starts barking like mad until he gets somebody's attention. Both Panda and Kruimel were found as sickly stray pups, in fact Kruimel found Panda.

A Dachhund plus companion and a St. Bernard

Dachshund in Delhi
A 7-year-old male dachshund and his companion, a 4-year-old female mixed breed, need to be re-homed ASAP, preferably together as their owner, a single woman, has terminal cancer and is admitted in a hospice in Delhi awaiting the end. Meanwhile the dogs are being looked after her maid and some kind friends and neighbours. But this is only temporary and the dogs must be found a home immediately. We're trying not to separate them, they're traumatised enough already. The person handling the adoption is Mr D'Souza, 981166153.

St. Bernard in Goa
This a very sad case of a 15 month old St. Bernard which has been tied up all his life. Not surprising he is not in the best of moods but since he is young he can probably be rehabilitated with lots of patience. I know it is probably an impossible case but there is no harm in trying. Anybody interested please PM me.

Dachshund in Goa
It seems that this is not a good time for owners of Dachhunds. Just after I posted the above, I received a phone call to tell me that Rosa (former owner of Casa Romero in Candolim) has today died of cancer. She had been ill since October but still believed she would make it. Her dog, a male, nine year old Dachshund mix, is staying with the cleaning woman of a friend but this is not a long term solution. Anybody willing to take him in?

Sorry for the St. Bernard it does look like and impossible one being a large breed and not in the best of moods. Will need a lot of patience and love I believe.

That is the worst sort of reason to keep a pet. Seen it happen many times it is so heart breaking. I hope this St. Bernard gets someone who can love him and give him a normal life. I would have taken him but with three of our own very mild and happy dogs I will not have enough time to devote to him without upsetting the rest of them.

Amazing news, the St.Bernard got adopted! We really did not think it was possible but a new home was found where they are willing to put in the effort to rehabilitate him! Just show that we should never give up.
