Traveling with a puppy in India
Hello all,
I have adopted a puppy and will be bringing him home to Canada with me when I leave here in August (have looked into all the necessary health/airline requirements to do so). In the meantime I'm going to be doing some traveling in India, just around Karnataka, and was wondering if anyone knows if trains and buses allow you to carry pets (in their cage) with you (rather than being kept with other baggage). Let me know if anyone has experience with this! |

Hi
I travel wid my Lasha Apso many times, you need to travel in 1st class AC by train ...its a coupe which has only 2 persons....if you request the other person, he/she wud mostly not mind travelling wid a pup, then u can travel wid ur pup ....flights not allowed except in cargo ...thats risky, buses I am not sure, if you carry him/her in a box mostly they wud allow u, hotels here in India are not pet friendly generally, try homestay options, have got better responses from them, try this website www.mygreatstay.com.....hope this helps Aditi Quote:

Log Huts in Manali lets you bring Pets with you on vacation. Whilst I was there, neighbour's dog bit the staff and they all went mad at him. Not sure if they let dogs in since then.
I dont think in India they'll let your dog be on the flight unlike US & Canada.

If you google on pet friendly you will dig up a lot of stuff on such for hotels in India. I think its mostly by negotiation and personal contact though as in so many things. You should be able to access past posts here on that topic. One covered trains rather well. Its become more restrictive and costly on US airlines I might add. I too doubt its possible at all iside the cabin on Indian domestic flights. However, people do fly in their pets internationally and do the same domestically in the baggage hold..
Was going to say, don't miss the posts listed at the very bottom of this page.. |
