Livinhymalayas: Thanks for the kind words, yes you are quite right about him loving me, he has bought me this huge pussy cat to keep me company, she is warm and she does not seem to eat much, on the other hand she looks after me, and the mischievous kids keep away when I snuggle in to her. I think now that I will stay with him,(El Thicko I mean) (He is as thick as two short planks though)He calls the pusy cat Tigger?
I was told that the training period for dogs was difficult; what nonsense! my dog had me trained in less than a fortnight.

Hi Snonymous. Love the cute avatar; did you know that these birds now breed in England in the wild? Well the human do also so it is no great surprise I suppose. The pussycat, well it’s a long story, I shall cut it to the bone (the story, not the cat) I was preceding in a southerly direction on the main highway between Panjim (Panaji) (Goa) and Madgaon (Margao) why did they bugger about with the names, and they were easier to pronounce before? Anyway, I stopped on the roadside to purchase one of those excellent huge water melons from a vendor of same. As I was examining them I heard a very loud mewing sound from behind me and I turned to se a large striped pussy cat, teeth bared, eyes afire, claws like grappling hooks at the ready to tear me apart, he, in that great lunge took my head in his mouth and was about to close his great jaws when I noticed the smell from its breath, it was as if he had just been devouring the emaciated feet of an Indian firewalker who had succumbed to toenail halitosis, I puked up in its mouth and the pussy jumped off me and was about to flee the scene when Whisky (my dog) leapt on him and …..
Are you buying this? No! I didn’t think so. I bought him just outside Panjim at the roadside. RS 2500. (down from RS6000) (wey wey muzungu) (White man in Swahili)
I take my pet tiger (sorry pussycat to church every Sunday…Well, he has to eat.

Whisky you are one lucky gal to have such a beautiful and big cat for a companion, you dad must love you a lot to get you one. You should go give him a good licking and a nuzzle for being such a good dad. He that would live in peace and at ease must not speak all he knows or all he sees. - Benjamin Franklin

Interesting tail, I mean tale, Dawnsdad! I met your BIG Pussycats cousin several times removed, in Kodaikanal. He was happy to pose for photographs, for a small fee of course, five bucks or something like that. Well, pussycats have to earn their keep too, don't they? Great story Dawsdad! The road Panjim and Margao is one of the best places in India to see these big cats.
Been a bit of IM the last few days, have my hands full with 5 foster puppies. I will post a pix of them later.

The time will come when men will look upon the murder of animals as they look upon the murder of men.
Near to where I live there is a bar/restaurant where the owner has a large Siberian dog, about 2 years old, the dog was given as a few months old puppy. I will try to post a picture of the dog, but, its face is one of the saddest that I have seen in such a long time. The temperature averages about +35 Deg C here and this poor creature is more suited to temperatures in Russia of minus 35 deg C. it would be more suited to the far north and up in the mountains.
Why do people do these things? It would be like taking a Chihuahua from the heat of central Spain and sending it to Siberia.
Yes I know that the welfare of the human being has to come before that of animals, but, would it be so hard or time consuming to simply prohibit the entry of animals that were unsuitable for whatever reason into a country?
Mans undoing in this kind of situation goes back to the times when we crossed the common wolf with other canines to serve our needs. The least that we could do would be to look after the creatures as they should be looked after. It’s time the creatures were repaid for what they have given us.
Everything is in the hands of man; therefore wash them often.

So agree with you! As a matter of fact I would even go a step further and suggest that breeding of any type but especially so-called pedigrees is stopped as long as dogs & cats still are euthanised in shelters because not sufficient homes are available. In any case most so-called pedigrees are often not suitable for the circumstances in India. The last couples of years we are seeing more and more pedigree dogs ending up in shelters (and being euthanised) because people find that they are too difficult to care for.
Being often over-bred pedigree dogs tend to fall sick easily and many people can not afford the vet bills. Others complain that big breeds like Labradors, eat too much, are too fuzzy with food or because so strong that they are difficult to handle. Persian cats get abandoned because people have no time to look after their coats and these will become one felt bundle of cat.
Of course there are exceptions, and especially on IndiaMike I know there people who are taking wonderful care of their pedigrees
, but unfortunately these are exceptions rather than the rule.By allowing the breeding India is creating the same problem as the west; many homeless dogs, puppy mills and huge expenditure to handle the problems that come with all this.

Hi Brum. Thanks for the kind words; he is really one sad old thing. Well you have seen him (Her) laying around for most of the time.
At first I had it in my mind to try to get her, but, on reflection she would be no better off. I offered to take the lad as well when he said “If she goes I also go” I said “OK” at which he backed off. Ungrateful wretch.
As I have said she needs cooler climes Tibet/ Hymalayas/near Isabels heart, or to return to Mother Russia, after all she only speaks Russian.
BTW; I just put the Brum prefix as I understand unless it is offered proper names should not be used. Something to do with the Colombian Drug Cartel I suspect. Incidentally, Dina’s fur would make a great fur shawl/coat for Isabel (I don’t care if the Colombians grab her)
Bye for now CU Tomorrow (probably)
Yes, it is odd when they are under the Influence, at first I thought it was funny to see Whisky the same after her op, I took her on the movie camera, Unfortunately now it saddens me so much I never watch it.
I have loved the same woman for forty years. If Isabel(My wife) finds out she will slaughter me.

How is this for a cure for a bad habit? my dog 'Whisky'only goes after and barks at people on a bicycle, how very odd.
Anyway I cured her of that particular trend very quickly and effectively.
I took her bicycle from her and locked it up in the garage.
Did you know that, the English are not happy unles they are miserable, The Irish are not at peace unless they are at war and the Scottish are not at home unless they are abroad. (George Orwell)
