Quality dog food in Chennai?

Hello pet lovers, I would to ask any recommendation on where I could buy quality dog food for my pup? I tried this shop in Adyar inside Gokul arcade but they dont have much selections other than an old small tetrapack of pedigree.

Thank you in Advance

Try opposite the Park Sheraton, supermarket at the corner of the road going into boat club road.

(forget what its called-Anna something- you can hardly see the sign anyway, small frontage but biggish supermarket inside)

if not there, ask a vet.

AmmaNanna, i think.

I means Mother Grandmother ---I think.

Anna means elder brother, but in the context of Chennai street and place names refers to a politician, Annadurai.

He might have founded the DMK; I can't remember (never was much good at remembering history lessons) but was certainly a big man in history of the Dravidian movement.

Right. That's brothers and grannies out of the way, now...

All the supermarkets sell dog food; lots of Indian households keep a dog.

The best stuff, however, is more likely available from specialist petshops and vet clinics. If you are near Adyar, there is, I think, a pet shop in Tiruvanmiyur. There is certainly one in Palavakkam on the ECR ('Lovely Pet Shop'!) where we buy our cat food.

We go to a vet clinic in Abhiramapuram (vet recommended); she sells food.

Many animal shelters also sell pet products. The profits go to their cause so by buying food for your pet you help other animals .

I do not know which ones do so in Chennai but with a bit of phoning around you should be able to find out. Some listings are given on:
http://www.weforanimals.com/animal%2...zations-30.htm

On the other hand, do realise that by buying most packaged pet food from large companies (Pedigree, Royal Canine, etc.) you are supporting testing on animals as all these companies use (sometimes gruesome) laboratory experiments on animals. Some of these tests cause kidney failure, obesity, malnutrition, liver damage, severe allergic reactions, stomach inflammation, diarrhoea, severe skin disorders, lesions, skin wounds and other painful inflications.
