Pune: elderly German shepherd needs a new home

Has to be given away because the owner is too old (80y.) and himself too ill to take care of the dog.

The dog is 12 y. old and is not making friends with strange persons easily! So, the person really must have patience and love for the animal.

Best would be someone with a garden, because the dog is not walking with strange persons either. Once he gets used to his new owner he probably will, but in the beginning walking him would be a problem, so a garden would be the better solution.

But he's a beautiful animal and a good guard dog. He's trained as well.

Anyone interested, please pm me!

Noodle

You touched my heart. My avatar says it all - Nattu is a pure bred GS, wonderful, and very loving. I wish I can take your senior GS. Is it male or female?

Today, I got the appointment letter for a Professorship at IIT- Kharagpur (1.5 hrs west of Kolkatta) - it is the first IIT and my brother studied there and so did Jyoti-da

Cheers

Hi Nattusbs! He's a male.

Think about it! Two dogs can entertain each other, dogs are social animals, so this guy might be good for your Nattu?

Congrats to the appointment! You sound very happy!

OMG, another bad pun from the Capt! Is this a particular naval/maritime affliction? Captain Jack Aubrey suffers from it as well -- e.g. "why is it call the dog watch?" "because it's curtailed" ... "the lesser of two weevils" (in the ship's biscuit)-- see Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series - great stuff! And you can't make me take the dog for going OT, I'm too far away. Anyway, the dog watch pun is sort of on topic.

Nope.

But it's true that you can't teach an old sea dog new ticks.

Because it's the underdog...

The lesser of two weevils is something we used to draw in paper at school (if this is a weevil...): I suspect Patrick O'Brian did too!

You're probably right. Have you read these O'Brian books, Nick? I think they'd be right up your alley. But I'm OT again ...

From the small world dept., his Dutch translator once helped me out with some nautical queries of mine. Quite renowned in her own field I believe.

Haven't read the good man mind. Now, what was that about dogs? Nattus, are you taking him?
