need a home for my dog

i have a stray dog (a mix of a white labrador and mongrel) about 4-5 months old and am unable to look after it from now on
i am pregnant and have been advised complete bed rest
so please help

Sounds sad.

The best I can suggest is that you place an advertisement in the local newspapers saying something along the lines of "Young labrador mix dog is looking for a loving home".

We have found that placing adverts for mixed breeds tend to results in quite a number of responses. If it does not with the first ad, try again with a different text. Give a lot of details in the ad about age, gender, character, reasons why it needs another home, etc. Ads in local papers are cheap.

Make sure you throughly vet the candidates so your dog will find a real good home.

Also make sure the dog is fully vaccinated and sterilized (4-5 months is a bit early but possible) and that you have a proper vet certificate to that effect.

Mention in the advertisement that the dog is vaccinated and sterilized.

Whatever happens please do not throw her/him just back on the street!!

If the dog would have been in Goa you would be able to avail of a scheme were a home can be found if you are prepared to pay INR 10,000 for its life long care (food, health care, etc.). It works similar to adoption pro grammes for children in which you can choose to receive photos throughout its life, visit the dog, etc. if you you want.

Unfortunately, I don't know of such scheme in Pune.
