Update on my travel folks:

I finally got the rabies titer test done at Pasteur Insitute, Connoor. Birds, thanks for the info. It seems that Pasteur Institute was closed for nearly an year and reopened early this year, due to some busted racket :-|
I sent across the results to AVA, and fortunately they've accepted it and allowed for the export. I am waiting for the import permit from AVA now.

I've also got the airline approved pet crates (man, they are expensive though !)

Now have to look into what needs to be done from the import side. Looks like there is a quarantine office in Pallikaranai, Chennai from where I have to get a clearance certificate. Not sure how straightforward its gonna be, or how much dough i gotta shell out.

Anybody out there with experience in this?? Much grateful for your help !

Thanks !!

Queey!

Hi There!

I would especially thanks crazydog for all the posts. I also a dog owner of not just one dog but four pugs in India at Mumbai. I am looking forward to take my kids to New Zealand next year. The posts have really helped me. i would appreciate if carzydog tells me what was the total cost of the rabies titre test that was done from pasteur institute connoor. Are the dogs transported to Singapore? If yes that what is the experience like. I know its our responsibily to see that our pets are comfortable in all aspects under they join our home. Please let me know. I would be awaiting your response. Thanks. take care. Cheers!

Hey Guys !

Please dont trust Furry Flyers. Anupama had sent her team to fetch my pugs whom I wanted to relocate to USA. Her guys who are not trained dog or cat handlers took my babies for the Government health certificate procedure but got one of my babies dead back home. I was completely devastated. You take care of your pets like babies and finally untrained people like what Anupama has kill them. Be careful guys. I dont wnat anyone else to go through the same situation ever.

Hi Crazydog,

My husband and I are in the same position you are in a couple of years ago. We are planning on moving to Singapore with our two babies ( a spaniel and a retriever) but are very wary about the quarantine. How was the whole procedure? The flight and the 30 day quarantine? Were the facilities good? Is it possible to go make a visit there prior to check out the place? Sorry for the questions! We dont want to make any decision on the move until we are certain they will be well looked after there.

Thanks!
