Hi,
I rescued a bitch who had had a litter of pups. The pups will be re-homed. The mother was returned to my locality after being speyed, vaccinated & treated for fleas & ticks. She is so skinny & we are trying to fatten her up. She has moved onto our porch & is so lovely, about a year old with a beautiful nature & sweet face. She is very gentle, docile & affectionate, no aggression whatsoever. She doesnt bark & is NO trouble, very friendly & great with other dogs. I think that she must have been a house dog that was thrown on the street when she became pregnant poor thing. I live in a rented property in Colva, South Goa & already have 2 dogs & a cat. Rosie needs a home with a loving family who will treat her well & NOT tie her up, she does not run off. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ROSIE A GOOD HOME ! She will make a wonderful pet. |

Hi Singer,
Thanks for looking after Rosie, for getting her sterilised and for rehoming her litter. Did you do the rehoming yourself or did you drop the pups at a shelter? From experience I can tell you that to find a home for an adult local dog is very difficult. If you are staying in Goa Rosie's best chance would be to live in your porch. This way she can be free, get food and care when required. If you do not stay here, you could try to advertise in the local newspapers. It is not expensive and works quite well with pups but unfortunatly not very well with adult dogs. Probably your best bet is to go around in your neighbourhood and look for the animal lover who feeds strays. These people tend to know where dogs are welcome. Some restaurants will also be willing to feed and keep an eye on a stray. Especially if you tell them that she is sterilised and vaccinated. Make sure you give them the telephone number of the local shelter so they can call when Rosie needs attention. Do not give up and good luck!
