How to help a dog in Delhi?

Hello.

There's a dog on the street here with a raw pink wound on its ear. It looks generally mangy and unhealthy. I've no money and no clue.

Is there anyone, anywhere near who can help with this kind of thing? The other dogs around here seem fine and get some attention and food, it's just this little one who looks miserable and sick.

I need a Delhi RSPCA or something. I've a feeling this is going to go nowhere, but worth a shot. Birds? Anyone?

Thanks for bringing this up and looking for a solution.

With ears we have to act quickly because it is very easy to get nasty infections but, if in time, generally easy to solve.

If you can pick her up bring her to Friendicoes in under the Defence Colony Flyover.

If not, call them and ask if there is a volunteer in the area near the dog or if they can come.

Details:
The FRIENDICOES SECA (Regd.)
The Society for the Eradication of Cruelty to Animals)
Society Registration no. 10188
Registered Office & Clinic
271 & 273 Defence Colony Flyover Market,
New Delhi-110024.
Phone: 011-24314787,011-24320707
email : friends271@vsnl.net
web: www.friendicoes.org

I will also PM you the contact details of a friend who can perhaps help.

In the meantime, if can please try to clean the ear with a little cotton wool and hand warm water. After that put some Neosporin (cream or powder) or iodine on it. It would be even better if you could get hold of a tube of Himax which is a veterinary creme that helps to cure a wide variety of infections (including early mange) and most important for strays keeps flies and maggots away (it smells!!). Himax costs about Rs.40 for a large tube but is not everywhere available.
