Hotels & Dogs

Hello All,
Anyone have experience with travelling and hotels with their dogs? We want to go to Mt. Abu, and wonder if it might be next to impossible to find a hotel that will accept dogs.

Also, we would like to have a pet sitter when we go back to the US - is this something that would be difficult to find? What would be appropriate pay?

I think it will be very hard, if not indeed impossible, to find hotels to accommodate you yes. Your fellow guests are also unlikely to be appreciative of it; and hence again your hotel reluctant to take you. (In fact I can't remember seeing a single pet on the move in any hotel there. It's not even all that easy in Europe where I live, and you need to know where to go, although this will be advertised.)

I don't know how Indian dog owners go about it, and some such hotels will probably exist (but how to find out about them I really wouldn't know), but I'd assume they generally leave them behind with family or friends.

On finding a pet sitter there I have no advice. Would probably help if you can specify where you're thinking of.

One nice thing... I did see a couple of dogs in people's arms when they were rescued and coming out of the attacked hotels in Bombay. Makes me think that you can have a dog there... but those kind of hotels cost a pretty penny.

I bet IM member Birds might know something about pet friendly hotels and dog sitting.
