| Hey - after my piggie stopped chewing, I trawled the net for a vet in Delhi. I found Geeta Sharma's blog at http://geetasharmavet.blogspot.com/ I paid a visit to her, and she was able to help me out. I got my piggie's teeth trimmed, and that solved the problem. That, and some vitamin drops. That's (Ec)Lair you see on her latest blog post. Lair is eating well now.

| Thats good, Ronsaik. There is one more area of concern and that is 'Mites'. Does your cavy scratch even a bit? It could be the starting. The vet you have mentioned seems to know about it. Give your cavy an Ivermectin treatment. Does no harm, (but should be given in a VERY small quantity.) Coz it doesn't take very long for the pigs to die once they are struck by mites. |

| Another thing I forgot to mention, the cavies are generally infected by mites. And as far as tooth problem is concerned, give your piggies green grass or whatever fodder is available around. It helps in trimming of their teeth. They need timothy hay, but its not very easily available here. In Delhi I Know a few places. Like Unique pet shop in Khan Market, Delhi. Pet Land in Def Col. There you can find hay. |
