| Oh yes, cats eat small stuff whole: that is said to be one reason why they 'play' with it before eating, to soften it up. I once saw a very large cat catch a flying bird in its mouth and swallow it. To be honest, I'm far from sure that that is what the cat intended to do!!! Our cats are fat and lazy, and fed on demand, so they snack all day, with two main meals. My last UK cat was ideal to feed (although she needed prescription food due to above mentioned urinary tract problems): just fill the bowl in the morning, and she would take it as and when. These two might end up like that, but I think at least one will be greedy, and we cannot leave food like that or it will attract an ant invasion. |
