Another Snake in my Garden!
I'm told that a snake was spotted by the guy watering our garden today!
Dark in colour, not very big... I'm very disappointed that I have not seen it yet; but I'm not going out there with bare feet again! Hoping for a sighting soon ![]()

Nick,
I thought you had penned a song when I saw the title of this thread. "I'm tired of these <blee> snakes in my <bleep> garden ..." |

Friends near Mirzapur had a big ficus in their garden with a resident snake. They mentioned finding mysterious offerings left near the base of the tree, presumably for the Nagas...
Nick, you better start picking a name for your new pet.. My suggestions..... "Mr. Sampji" ...or "The Hooded Fang". Wanderer22 |

What's seriously important is for us to be very careful, and to try to spot it and have a go at identification.
There are Forestry guys who will catch snakes that sometimes come into the suburbs (though usually in the rainy season) and release them in a more suitable place. |

Apparently you aren't the only one with a snake problem:

Woman in California finds Spot-on Article in Paper that Chennai Man gets every day but missed!
Amazing, eh? That's a great pic in your other link too, and a link there to more info. Thanks Dzibead... particularly useful in that article is the phone number to call. The guy who apparantly saw it is a well-paid decorator; I don't think he's interested in full time weeding and watering! I did see a piece of rubber out there; I sort of hope it wasn't a mistake! I'd like to see the snake. We live in an area with a garbage problem. We also live next to a plot which is usually flooded and has just dried out. Our garden is full of small frogs, and we have a flower bed that a snake can hide in. It's all good practice for my one-day move to rural Kerala! |

We think it might have been this... But I guess It is one of the most dangerous-looking pieces of rubber I've ever seen! ![]() |
