Wooden furniture/handicrafts in Delhi
I am interested in purchasing wooden handicrafts and furniture, in particular Jhula (Indian Swing) when I am in Delhi end of March.
Please advise any shops around delhi that have wide selection and at reasonable prices. Thanks |

Furniture is easy/cheap to buy .... yet, at times, very hard to ship. Make sure you do your due diligence on the wood type you are buying, it's reaction to changes in climate(temp/humidity) and the ease/difficulty of assemble/disassembly for the shipping process.

I goggled and found the areas mentioned.
Panchkuian road and Rani Jhansi Road - are the furniture market/ shops on the main road itself? What about Kiti Nagar, is this anywhere near the Kirti Nagar metro station. Will I be able to find Wooden Jhulas here? Thanks for your assistance. |

where are u staying in delhi. there are a couple of places in South delhi as well - Dilli Haat (this place has Jhula's) and another market towards East of Kailash as well.
Would be more expensive than the other places, but bargaining will get you a good price and if 'moving around' is a bit of a headache then might be worth your while.

When I did a search on the internet, I found many wooden handicrafts/furniture manufacturers in Udaipur and Jodhpur. Therefore, I am contemplating if I need to make a trip there to get better selections/bargains. Or will I be able to find all these items in Delhi? Will Delhi have a wider/better selection of items from the other cities?

If you're talking any major volumes then Rajasthan/Gujarat is a must - sooner or later.
