Winter trips around Delhi? Few days in February
Hi there,
Great forum, loads of fantastic advice, wish we'd found it earlier!! We are looking at giving up our NZ summer holidays and hitting the slopes in Gulmarg in February for a week. We've not been to India before but can see from the map it's pretty big, so we realise that we're not going to see too much of it in the 5 days we have spare. That's where we are hoping you guys can help; we will be flying back into Delhi (loaded up with snowboards) and plan to store them somewhere and spend 4-5 days seeing either Taj Mahal, travelling to Amritsar to see the Golden Temple, or something else entirely. We're keen to see what we can, but not looking to do a 24hr tick everything off the list type trip. It would be great if anyone had suggestions that fitted in with the time of year, and weren't too far (in relative terms!) out of Delhi (maybe 1/2-1 days travel max) Thanks, EP ![]() |

Try and fit in Jaipur and/or Varanasi. Both are easy to reach, and if you travel at night, you save a hotel and don't lose a day travelling.

Thanks for the speedy reply Tim, lightning fast!
Googling those places right now, what makes you recommend them, is there anything we should look to do (or avoid!) if we make it there? Cheers, EP Wellington ![]() |

As the Captain says, don't miss out a side trip to Fatehpur Sikri when you are in Agra. Tim in England |

Cheers Tim/Capt, be sure to check them out. I'm sure there's lots on this site about them as well.
Anyone any questions on NZ, let us know! ;-) |
