Which Station and Airport is Which in Delhi?

Hi.

Can someone answer my following questions please

1) Which Airport is the Indra Gandhi Airport, is this the International one?

2) What is the airport for domestic flights called?

3) How many railway stations are there in Delhi? What are they called?

4) Which station does the Shatbdhi Express from Amritsar come into? How far is this from both airports?

5) What is a reasonable price to pay for a taxi ride to both Airports from the railway station?

1) Both are IGI. Domestic & International terminals are separate.
2) Everbody refers it as Domestic terminal 1.
3) Main stations. Delhi Main often refered as Old Delhi, New Delhi, Hazarat Nizamuddin & Sarai Rohilla.
4) New Delhi. About 1 hour taxi ride to airport.
5) Sorry since I live in Delhi & use my car cant tell you exactly some traveller will post that.

yes, indira gandhi airport is the international airport.
there are two main railway stations in delhi: new delhi central station and hazrat nizamuddin station. the shatabdhi express from amritsar should arrive at new delhi central station. i would say it takes you roughly an hour to the international airport, depending on the traffic it can take you much longer.

There's only one airport complex in Delhi but the domestic and international terminals have different entry points several kilometers apart. It's called IGI or Indra Gandhi International airport. Terminal-I (A, B & C) caters to domestic flights while Terminal-II caters to international flights.

3) How many railway stations are there in Delhi? What are they called?
Several small ones but there are only three main stations. New Delhi, Hazrat Nizzamudin and Old Delhi station.

4) Which station does the Shatbdhi Express from Amritsar come into? How far is this from both airports?
New Delhi. It's about 20 km from international airport and 15 from domestic.

5) What is a reasonable price to pay for a taxi ride to both Airports from the railway station?
Not more than 400-500 for each. I think there is a pre-paid taxi counter at the station. There are two exits on the New Delhi station. Pre-paid taxi is at the Ajmeri Gate side.

Also keep in mind that while the airport complex is same for both National and International airports, the domestic terminal is also referred to as Palam airport sometimes. Even at Palam, all Indian Airlines flights use a terminal thats different from other domestic carriers like Jet Airways, Sahara etc.

For railway stations, as a thumb rule, most trains coming from or going to north / north west of Delhi arrive or leave at New Delhi Railway Station, while those heading east, use the Old Delhi Rly Stn. The southbound trains mostly use Hazrat Nizamuddin Rly Stn. But this is just a thumbrule. Please do check the railway timetable for correct stations.

Well, since Cosmic is a private airlines, i am not sure whether they leave from terminal 1 (domestic) or terminal 2 (international). Your best bet would be to call up the airlines office directly.

But Jet Airways surely will leave from Terminal 1B
