Which is your favourite place to stay in DELHI and Why?
Hi all,
Everyone is invited to share your experiences during your stay in different hotels in Delhi. This can be very useful for the first time travelers to Delhi. Must share - 1. Place and the name of the hotel (phone no. and address, if possible) 2. Rent and other charges 3. Negatives and positives of the place 4. Your experience 5. ADVICE/SUGGESTIONS Actually, I was just going through the different replies and veiws posted in (why foreign tourists like PAHARGANJ in Delhi?) thread. Now that led me to post this new thread. .. . .

Master guesthouse.
http://www.master-guesthouse.com/ The location and prices are all there. It's about Rs1500 per night. Lovely quiet location but still central, and the people who run it are lovely. Simple rooms with nice touches. Downside is the shared toilets and shower! |

I find the hotels in Karol Bagh so much better than in Connaught Place. Marina wasn't too bad, I'd probably stay there next time seeing it's in the city centre and not too dear.

In Karol Bagh I stayed in Hotel Good Palace. The rooms are much like an Ibis or a Premier Travel Inn in the UK in terms of amenities, and all are spotless- I've stayed there at least 5 times and never had trouble. Going back there from cheaper places what struck me were the mattresses- proper full-depth mattresses. I'd got used to much thinner ones!
They have a website: http://www.goodpalacedelhi.com/ And a rather sweet little vid on YouTube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2kZ_KrNJXo0 Downsides: The road outside is tiny and congested and can be noisy during the day, so you might want to avoid rooms at the front. If you do that, you might have just a lightwell or the building at the back to look at when you open your blinds! It's in Karol Bagh. Never once had any trouble, but it's a tuk tuk ride to anywhere of interest really. The Metro's quite near though. |
