Which areas in Delhi became better accessible due to Metro?

Hi,

I stayed in Delhi in 2001, and my experience was that it is better to stay near Connaught Place or New Delhi Railway Station (where there are many rikschaws). Otherwise, every trip around Delhi required long search for riskwas and exorbital prices (because I had no choice).
Now, they built the Metro.
Which areas of Delhi are connected by Metro?
South Delhi? Lohdi Garden? Zoo? Majnu Ka Tilla- Tibetan colony?

Certainly Delhi metro made travel very easy in Capital city.
In phase I, it connect densely populated west and North Delhi with central. Also it connect both Old and new Delhi railway station,ISBT and Connaugt Place.

here is the map which you can see for metro network.

Majnu ka till go connectivity at kashimiri gate station. South Delhi will be covered mostly in Second phase.

Delhi Metro now connects Rohini in the far north west corner to the central bus terminal at Kashmiri Gate then across the Yamuna to Shahdara in east Delhi. That's the west to east corridor.
It includes the touristy area of Karol Bagh where there are many hotels and good shopping.

The north south corridor starts at Delhi University. There is a transit station at Kashmere Gate to cross to the other line.
It goes down to New Delhi, then on to Connaught place. One line ends near Parliament House, the other goes to south east Delhi near the bank of the Yamuna.
The next phase of Metro will connect the airport to central Delhi and also go down to south Delhi.

Tibetan Colony at Majnu ka Tila is quite close to the last metro station - Delhi University also called Vishva Vidhyalaya.
Take a rick from there.

Chandni Chowk station for Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Old Delhi station.

Kashmere Gate for the Inter State Bus Terminus.

Central Secretariat for India Gate, Parliament House, President's Palace, Humayun's tomb and for rickshaw to Qutub Minar. Or bus.

The Delhi Metro is very well managed. They increase the frequency of services in the peak hours, so it's difficult to pin down any specific hours. Even the chaos would be interesting for people watching.
