Used the Hari krishna guest house a couple of times and was surprised Initially was put of by the alley leading to the small grotty foyer ,but the rooms were fine ,clean airy ,one even had a new plasma screen screwed to the wall and a brand new bathroom with a new HOT shower .Answered e-mails arranged taxi's .Didn't have wi-fi but there were connectors hanging out of various walls which worked well .Impressive for paharganj.

Hi Guys,
Hotel Gush have offered me a double A/C room for 650. They're pretty new so the rooms are done up well but no window. Do you reckon I can haggle them down over email? I paid 350 for a single non AC in December last year. I've just budgeted out our 3 week trip and realised I've got less money than I though!

hotel gush?? what a fantastic name!
I would say that 650 for a double with a/c in a new room is not so bad but you can always try to haggle by email...no easy task!
No window is pretty much a given in PG...well, no view is anyway. It's not something i would really worry about too much.

I have not been to delhi in august but i suspect it will still be a/c season. I'm sure someone else can confirm this...K

hmm.. I'll go back to them and ask for 550. I have stayed with them twice before, so surely I should get some kind of loyalty discount

If not can anyone recommend somewhere with wifi?
thanks
I stayed here on in June. It was OK, the rooftop restaurant was good, however if you order food for more than 2 people expect to get the wrong food or some of your order missing.

On the way home i stayed at Hotel Glod regency, a stones throw away from Delhi rail station. The staff were much better and if your haggling is good you can reduce the room price.

Freenote, your link is blocked by the virus protection software on my laptop with the message that this is an Attack Site. Just thought I should let you and others know, in case you don't have the same level of protection.

Surely "Gush International" wins hands down - and that really is it's name!

I hope the name doesn't describe the plumbing!

Just yesterday I visited Cottage Yes Please as I was passing from that area and I had my camera with me. I requested the Lobby Manager to take me some pics of the rooms, I thought it will be good for my IM posts....... Their AC rooms are for Rs. 900 but they are good, they are located in relatively quieter area of Paharganj, Malhotra Restaurant is just opposite the hotel and Metro Station is also nearby.......

I stayed there twice as well, very decent place for the price (was 250 Rupees for a double in 2006).

With this whole bargaining thing, is late-August tourist season in Delhi, or can I use the off-season bit to my advantage?
