WHere to stay in delhi
I will be in Delhi with my wife this 25th,26th and plan to see everything possible. Can you suggest a good hotel (budget =2000) and located centrally. A decent hotel in a decent locality will do.
I heard karol baugh, paharganz are good to stay and see around ? |

you can check the 'hotel' section of this site, you can also search the internet for b&b's in Delhi, I think that is a good option because you will live with a family, but will get the comforts of a hotel and prices are usually convenient. I think Karol Bagh and Paharganj are too touristic to be relaxing, there are many touts in those areas...

2000 is a good budget , you can try and expand your search outside of Karol Bagh and Paharganj unless you want to stay there...
A b&b is a good option , yes. |

Paharganz has hotels ranging from 250 rs to 3000 odd rs. You might be charged for some extravagant facilities or the brand name.

That is very true. In fact, I would recommend staying at a budget hotel around 800-1200 , and avoid hotel Ajanta. This one is not value for money.

Stay at the Ginger hotel outside New delhi station. 200 meters or maybe 300 from the metro station.
Clean hotel and comfortable and very much affordable. around 1K if you book through irctc, just be careful for the lazy idiots at the reception. You need to kick them to make them work. they are too lazy , slow and confused. No room service though if thats what you looking for. but overall a good experience. |

And if i forgot to add about Ginger - this hotel will not have room service if you looking for an early morning tea in bed. you have a tea maker in room which will probably fulfill your desire for tea. (maybe i am too bad at making tea from the tea kit, but i just dont enjoy it) no bell boys too.
Just so this does not come as a surprise- this is something like a self service - carry your luggage o the trolley , make your tea, iron your clothes and take away food if you want it in your room. |
