Where to find Modal and Lyocell fabrics - Delhi?

Hi everyone,

Rather than bring my own synthetics from home for trekking, I thought about trying to find some modal and lyocell fabrics in India. I've just recently learned about them, so here's some background information for the curious:

Made from beech wood pulp, these fabrics are incredibly soft, breathable, and pliant - think of the thin, worn softness of your favorite old T-shirt. The textile industry in India welcomed these new materials several years ago as a good replacement for polyester and rayon, because they serve the same function in manufacturing, without taking the same toll on the environment. Because they are made with cellulose (the natural biopolymer found in all plants), they wick away moisture from the skin, which makes them excellent for athletic apparel.

Any ideas as to where I can find something like this. Delhi is probably the most likely option. Any insight? Thanks!

Has anyone even heard of these fabrics before, or their use in India? Thanks,

As there are no beechwood trees in India,

finding such fabrics (if you can at all) would mean they are imported. If you want them, I suggest you bring your own, Dave. Check out www.stikage.com
They are a outdoor store based, I think, in Delhi.
