Where to change money? How much to change at once?

Hi,

I did not find a right place to put this question, that is why it is in dehli Section.
I will spend 2 weeks in india travelling around. All the hotels require cash. So, it is about 1000 US Dollars.
Should I change them all together in the Arrival Hall of Delhi Airport? (and then bear with me a huge parcel of rupees)? Or should I search for Exchange Offices in each new city? What is the best strategy?

Change a bit at the airport (and take EURO, no need to change twice)For the rest take a cashcard/bankcard and get your money from an ATM that are abundant. It depends a bit on the costs that your bank charges, but for 20.000 Rs (around 350 Euro's) my Dutch Bank charged aroudn 2 euro's and my belgian bank around 4. Rates are very good.

Many of the larger hotels will change money --- but they may not offer good rates, so check carefuly.

How much you need each day depends entirely on your lifestyle! This is something I think you will learn as you go along.

Thumbs up

Is it 1000 us dollars for two weeks accommodation?.
Wow, that is a lot of cash, about 45,000 rupees. You could get it in 1000 rupee notes, but the atm is really easy.
